This tool helps implement a Kanban board on SharePoint.
A Kanban board can help manage projects. Kanban boards have tasks that are to be done, in progress and are already done. This visual representation will help managers foresee any bottlenecks and take proactive actions to remove those. Employees move cards (cards depicting status of a task) to the section on the board that coincides with the receptacle it represents. Agile software development projects can represent status in Backlog, Ready, Coding, Testing, Approval and Done columns. These columns could be named the way it makes most sense for a given team or the kind of project. For example, one may have columns such as Next, In Development, Done, Customer Acceptance, Live. This Virto Kanban Board Web Part helps implement the Kanban method in SharePoint environment. Managers are able to get a clear view of task process and are also able to visualize bottlenecks and blockers.
To adjust the Kanban Board on your SharePoint site, simply select the task list and define columns for the task statuses. Tasks can be dragged and dropped to change their status at any time. It is possible to set WIP limits supported in the Kanban Board. Tasks can be filtered by project. This can simplify the visualization when you use the board to depict status of multiple projects. The Editing of items is possible. The interface is very simple; it is like moving post-it notes from high priority column to normal and low priority columns. This is a very good tool.
